A good teacher will always be asking you questions carefully and skillfully in hopes of awakening your inner child to ask more questions. To fully benefit from a teacher they needs feed back, if you do not understand then ask for clarification. Teaching is a two way street, students have to listen and learn. The one most important thing that you have to do when you find a teacher is ask yourself can I relate to this person do I trust this person?
A teacher will be skillful in how they ask questions and frame their statements.
The skillfulness of a teacher is the sort of person that would not tell you falsehoods pretending to know something they didn’t know, because of greed avoidance or delusion and recognition. Ask yourself the questions would the teacher try to get someone to do something that wasn’t in my best interests? You have to check out the teachers first realizing you can can’t just trust anyone who comes along. No matter how good they look on paper you’ve got to look at the person’s behavior, when you feel comfortable that this is the sort of person you can trust, then you listen to that person’s Dharma and learn.
The first question you could ask a teacher is “What is skillful and what is unskilled?”
But you keep on asking questions period you don’t just stop with the definition of what skillfulness is or a few rules about what skillfulness you look at your behaviors. You actually, look at your behaviors. The essence of teaching is how to check your behavior your motivation the actual results you get from your actions. If you see anything horrible coming from’ you, you have to go back and learn how to act another way how to speak think in other ways, both can be observed through getting advice from other people on the path.
Three Thinks to be aware of to find a good teacher.
- 1.For knowledge: Does this person teach truth that would be hard far a person of greed, aversion and delusion to know? 2. For Truthfulness: Does this person have greed, aversion or delusion that would inspire him/her to claim knowledge that they did not have? 3. For Compassion: Does this person have greed, aversion or delusion that would inspire him/her to get another person to do things that would lead that person to harm others or self and into long suffering?
Should you reply the first question as no and the other two questions yes, seek another teacher. If you reply to first question yes, and the other, two no then go to the next step inf awakening to truth. You must continue to support the quest for skillfulness with questions that are meant to inspire and make you aware, Social conditioning throughout life always helps us find a wonderful true Nature, but we can trust only if we can see it in unselfish ways.
- (DAP 64) Though all his life a fool associates with a wise man, he no more comprehends the Truth than a spoon tastes the flavor of the soup. (DAP 65) Though only for a moment a discerning person associates with a wise man, quickly he comprehends the Truth, just as the tongue tastes the flavor of the soup.
Compliance is a dangerous your actions, makes the difference between harm and no harm are actions are unskillful ways that you have to overcome and realize. Asking yourself questions and seeking advice from trusted advisors.
Questioned constantly? Is it pleasurable or skillful? Is it stressful? Maybe you need to research other ways of doing things and always question yourself. You must always be aware of the gaps in your thinking and actions period.
Ask yourself these questions every day. My death Could Happen today is there anything in my mind that would cause me to do something unskillful? Is there any unfinished business you need to fix today. If there is fix it quickly. At night ask the same question. If I died at night? Focus on your mind and the questions be heedful and aware
How do you live? How do you show love and compassion? How do you solve problems and deal with stress? Where does knowledge lie and where does the gap in you know knowledge lie? Keep on giving expanding your imagination exploring your concepts of true peacefulness and what it might be like.
Where are we getting in trouble, is when we think you we know everything it’s where you belong be aware really? You can’t relax don’t keep on practicing. All this can leads us to think that we don’t need to go any further. This is where we belong this is always an era. Keep on Practicing no matter what this way you’ll find the path and you’ll be able to stay on it. Otherwise, you may fall back into your old habits. Insight Meditation and Dharma require dedication, and motivation only you can change yourself.
Before you speak ask yourself these three question. Are my words true? Are they beneficial? Is it a wise time to say something pleasing, or is it the time to say something unpleasant?
Seeking the truth has to always be a part of how we live, lying to ourselves has to come first. In order to be able to judge when others maybe are lying.
